Our Iron-on Labels

What are Iron-on labels, what do you use them for and how do you apply them? Read our blog to find out!

Auto ID Systems offers Iron-On Name Tags / Labels that you can purchase today. Our Iron-on labels are durable and wash-proof, so you won’t have to replace them constantly. There’s nothing more frustrating than losing a piece of clothing and having to buy it again. With these labels, this will be a problem of the past!

What are Iron-On Name Tags used for?

This type of label is most commonly used in school uniform garments such as blazers, shirts, skirts, ties, coats, PE kits, trainers and school shoes. Children tend to lose items easily, especially at schools, where the lost and found box is overflowing with lost uniform. Ironing on one of our name tags is extremely easy and can prevent you from having to replace lost items – if your child does lose a piece of their uniform, its tags will make it easier for someone to identify its owner and return it to them. Iron-on Name Tags aren’t just used for school children, though. They can also be used for a wide range of other things, such as:

  • Football kits
  • Work gear
  • Possessions in nursing homes
  • Hats / caps
  • Gloves
  • Sport / running clothing
  • Running shoes
  • Work boots
  • Any garment that needs an identification label

How do you apply Iron-on Labels?

When you’ve purchased your Iron On Name Tags from us and printed the name onto it using a thermal transfer printer and one of our wash proof ink ribbons, you can then use this guide to help you apply them to any piece of clothing:

  • Set your iron temperature to high.
  • Turn off the steam and empty the water from within the iron.
  • Remove the label from the backing paper of our pre-cut roll (or cut the required size off the continuous roll).
  • Place the label where you want and cover with baking / parchment paper.
  • Iron on the label by pressing down and moving back and forth for around 10-15 seconds.

If you need any assistance choosing the correct name tags or ink ribbon, please contact the friendly team at Auto ID Systems and we will be happy to help.
